Between Takes: Autumn/Winter 2024 at Valle de Guadalupe
Monday, October 14, 2024Between Takes
Somewhere between direction and silence, there’s a rhythm that only happens off-camera — in those small fragments of time when everyone is waiting, watching, or simply breathing.
These are the quiet moments from the Autumn/Winter 2024 campaign for Pavi Italy, shot in Bodegas del Valle and Bruma, in Valle de Guadalupe.
The light was generous that week — soft, golden, cinematic. In between takes, I found myself part of the frame, sometimes by accident, sometimes to test the shot, sometimes just because the camera was already rolling.
I. Stand-In
In between shots I’m also a stand-in.
It’s a strange thing, to be both behind and in front of the lens — rehearsing a frame that isn’t meant to be yours, holding space for someone else’s gesture. But sometimes those seconds carry more truth than the planned take ever could.
II. A Subtle Snapshot
A subtle snapshot that someone took, somewhere at sometime.
There’s no pose here, no performance. Just a fragment of light and air — the kind of image that happens when no one is trying. The kind I like to keep.
III. Mapping the Sky
Another one of me being a stand-in while we map out the drone shots, with my constant companion — the Case by Lo Esencial.
The drone hovered quietly, the wind brushing against the vineyards. My hands, my bag, my stance — all part of the test frame. Lo Esencial felt right there too, subtle and functional, blending into the rhythm of work without ever calling attention to itself.
Campaigns are built in moments like these — unscripted, transitional, real.
Between every take, there’s a story forming: one about light, waiting, and presence.
Shot in Valle de Guadalupe, for Pavi Italy, Autumn/Winter 2024.
