I once dreamt of a forest, but it was different to any forest I'd been in before. This particular forest was composed of a different kind of tree, this trees had enormous light posts instead of trunks, and large neon lights of different colours instead of branches and leaves. And that forest inside my head was spread across the infinite horizon of my mind.
Because of this and some other things that occurred, my friends and I decided to experiment with different kinds of lighting awhile back, to simulate the neon glow that I had dreamt of one night.
Hello,
To be quite honest I had no intention of making a new post so soon after the last one,
I hadn't even thought of of the clothes I wanted to use, or the place in which I wanted to shoot. This post was in a way a welcome surprise and a breath of fresh air, because of the circumstances that surrounded it. In a way, I was just out with my friends goofing around with a camera.
Everything has been a bit stressful lately (bordering on chaotic) and everyone has been a bit let down by certain things going on at school, so going out to my favorite coffee shop with my closest friends, to just talk about nonsense, and take pictures while joking around was one of the nicest thing I´ve experienced in a while (take into account I was just at Fashion Week).
It´s easy to dismiss things like this as common, but I believe that things like this as simple as they may be are the ones that take the heavy loads off our shoulders and make us realize that things are not as grim as they often seen, and that all we need is an Unexpected Outing, to a coffee shop with your friends, while you improvise a photo shoot on the street.
I just finished a new screenplay and this led me to start asking myself...
Why do we write? In all honesty, why do people write stories?
I read stories because they give me a chance to escape, to step into someone else's shoes and just disappear into their lives, to experience certain emotions when I am unable to do so naturally, to get a sense of how it would be like to be anyone else but me.
Now, why do we write? Why do we choose to share those feelings?... why do we consciously divulge personal experiences that may or may not had at one point destroyed us?
Maybe, we do it so we can let it all go so we can end things...
There are kinds of endings that left us empty, a person leaving or dying unexpectedly, or maybe something that feels unfulfilled. And there are the kinds of endings that while they left us a bit sad or melancholic, they leave us with a feeling of completion… that while something is over it doesn’t mean it's gone, it just means that its purpose has been accomplished, that it is no longer needed.
An ending is always sad, and sometimes it takes us a while to accept them, the problem by which we cannot do this, is that we don’t understand why this happens, I really can’t tell you why everything ends or the reason for it happening, but everything eventually does, and is up to each of us to read, and re-read and re-read the context, and look back no matter how hard or painful it may be to understand why it is ending. I can’t tell you this is easy, because it is really hard more often than not, but when you finally get it, you’ll be able to think back on that and repeat the whole thing in your head, from beginning to end, and get it, while it may be sad sometimes, it won’t be painful… it will become an experience, one that you already lived through, and one you must let go.
